The Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) 2003

The City of Anderson Police Department Detention Center (APDDC) is committed to the safety and security of inmates, staff and others. To this end, the APDDC along with the City of Anderson Police Department will establish guidelines and procedures in compliance with the standards of the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) of 2003. The APDDC will have a ZERO TOLERENCE policy towards all forms of sexual abuse and sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, sexual coercion, consensual sexual activity, and/or staff sexual misconduct as defined under The Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) 2003. Uniform guidelines and procedures for preventing, detecting and responding to sexual abuse and sexual harassment at the APDDC will apply to all staff, contractors, or volunteers and all facilities associated with the APDDC.

Any staff member, contractors, or volunteers found, upon investigation, to have been involved in any incident of sexual abuse, assault, harassment, coercion will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment?? services or contract, and criminal prosecution, if applicable. Any inmate who, upon investigation, is determined to be the perpetrator of sexual abuse, assault, harassment, coercion and or attempted rape will be subject to disciplinary action, to include criminal prosecution, if applicable.

The APDDC has implemented ways you can confidentially report sexual misconduct:
