City Of Anderson To Modify Operations Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

Essential operations including Police, Fire, Public Works and Public Utilities to continue

Effective March 15th, The City of Anderson will modify services through Monday, April 13th, to protect citizens and minimize opportunities to spread COVID-19 in our community. We will reevaluate these changes as more information is available and as we move closer to April 13th. The City of Anderson website and social media accounts will be updated regularly.

Taking into consideration CDC and DHEC recommendations on social distancing and measures taken across the nation to include travel bans, school closures, quarantines and event cancellations, the City will take the following precautionary measures:

  • Access to public buildings will be restricted
  • Payments will be accepted over the phone, online and by mail
  • Permits, licensing and payment assistance will be handled online or by phone
  • City of Anderson Recreation Center will be closed through April 13th to create social distance, thereby protecting our members and sports participants
  • The city permitted events at parks and public spaces, including the Block Party, are suspended until further notice
  • Scheduled public activities and meetings at all City buildings will be canceled through April 13th. This includes City Hall, the Municipal Business Center and the Economic Development offices.
  • Watch for more information about possible online and teleconference methods of conducting essential governance.
