The Strike Team consists of two uniformed officers. The Strike Team primary area of enforcement/operation will be the major highways/streets, high crime areas, and high crash zones. The team's high visibility enforcement is intended to both detect and/or deter impaired drivers and criminal activity. The team will work specifically to curtail impaired drivers within the city limits of Anderson. These officers are trained in DUI detection enforcement, traffic enforcement, and prosecution.
The team is available, upon request, to give a Traffic Safety Presentation to schools and civic organizations – Call (864) 231-7615.
The team will be under the direct supervision of Patrol Services Division Commander, Captain Jim Stewart.
The team also works with other law enforcement agencies to help reduce traffic fatality crashes by aggressive traffic enforcement and public awareness/education. The agencies include: Anderson County Sheriff's Office, Belton Police Department, Iva Police Department, Oconee County Sheriff's Office, West Pelzer Police Department, and Williamston Police Department.
