Captain Kevin Marsee has served the community with the Anderson Police Department since 1985. He was assigned as a criminal investigator to the Vice and Narcotics Section in 1989 where he has continued to present time. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1996, Lieutenant in 1998, and to Captain in 2004. During the span of his career, he was the lead investigator in numerous drug conspiracy cases targeting offenders with a propensity for violence investigated with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and other Federal and State agencies that led him to be named Police Officer of the Year in 1990 and in 2003. An honor graduate of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in 1986, Marsee is also a certified Crime and Intelligence Analyst through California State University at Sacramento and the California Department of Justice. Captain Marsee developed the Anderson Police Department's Asset Forfeiture Section and implemented the SCIBRS/NIBRS reporting computer system presently in use by the Department. Marsee is currently assigned as Captain of Special Operations which is comprised of the Vice and Narcotics Section, Street Crimes Unit, and Technical Services. He was court certified as an expert witness in the field of drug enforcement in 1995, and continues to testify as an expert witness for the 10th Judicial Circuit. Currently he also serves as a Special Deputy U.S. Marshal for Operation Intercept Fugitive Task Force.
