Captain James E. Johnson

Captain James E. Johnson first entered on duty with the Department in August 1987. Captain Johnson's last assignment in the Department was in the Patrol Division as Lieutenant of Charlie Shift. Captain Johnson has also served in the Investigative Division. He has received specialized training in elder abuse investigations, homicide investigations, incident response to terrorist bombings, and basic correctional officer. He has completed First Line Supervision and Mid-Level Management courses provided through the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. Commanding the Support Services Division, Captain Johnson will be responsible for training, recruitment, officer re-certification, special event coordination, community development programs, reserve officer program, citizens academy, explorers program, and research and development.
