Complaint Form
It is the policy of the Anderson Police Department to ensure that integrity is maintained through an internal system. Complaints will be investigated in an impartial manner. If the matter is determined to be criminal in nature, it will be reported to the appropriate agency. If the complaint is to be handled internally by the Internal Affairs Division you will be notified by mail of the final disposition of the matter. If the case is sustained, you will not be notified of the disciplinary action(s) taken against the employee. This action is a personnel matter, not public information.
If you feel that your rights have been violated and you would like to file a complaint against an employee of the Anderson Police Department, please contact the Internal Affairs Division. You can be assured that the Anderson Police Department will not tolerate any misconduct on the part of an Anderson Police Department employee. Any fictitious or misleading complaints against an employee may be subject to Criminal and/or Civil prosecution under section 16-9-30 of the South Carolina Code of Laws.
A complaint can be filed with Internal Affairs in the following ways:
Go to the Anderson Police Department and request to speak with an internal affairs investigator or the shift supervisor
Call the Internal Affairs Office at 864-231-2288.
Write a letter to the attention of either the Chief of Police or the Internal Affairs Division at Anderson Police Department, 401 South Main Street, Anderson, SC 29624

Inspector David R. Creamer has been employed by Anderson City Police Department for over15 years. After serving 10 years in the Patrol division, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In September of 2009 he was transferred to the position of Internal Affairs Investigator and then in 2011his services was needed in investigations. In August 2012 he was transferred back to Internal Affairs. He currently serves on the Crisis Negotiation Team with The City of Anderson SWAT team, assistant Public Information Officer for the Police department and also serves on the AET (Alcohol Enforcement Task Force). He was selected Officer of the Year in 2003 and received a Resolution from the State of South Carolina House of Representatives. Inspector Creamer is a third generation Police Officer who follows in the footsteps of his grandfather (killed in the line of duty with Anderson County Sheriff’s Office) and father (retired after 35 years with The City of Anderson).
