In 1995, Officer Michael Bracone began his career with the City of Anderson Police Department's Uniform Patrol Division. In 1997, Bracone was transferred to the Community Patrol Division as the Public Housing Officer and was placed on the Bike Team. As an officer in the Community Patrol Division, Bracone was responsible for patrolling six apartment complexes for the Anderson Housing Authority and patrolling assigned areas on a mountain bicycle. Bracone also gave speeches at area schools, assisted with the annual Christmas toy drives, Easter Seals, Special Olympics, and established positive ties with the communities he patrolled. Bracone made the rank of Corporal while in the Community Patrol Division.
In 2000, Bracone transferred to the Narcotics Division under the rank of Captain Kevin Marsee. During his time in the Narcotics Division, Bracone completed the Basic Narcotics School in Meridian, Mississippi. In 2001, Bracone achieved the rank of Sergeant where he supervised 9 other officers under his command. Bracone assisted with executing search and arrest warrants on known and suspected drug distributors, handled paperwork on forfeitures of assets and properties, and assisted with patrolling areas where drug distribution was high. In 2002, Sgt. Bracone attended the Narcotics Commander Course, which was put on by the United States Attorney's Office in Columbia, SC, and numerous other narcotics training. In 2004, Bracone achieved the rank of Lieutenant. During his time in the Narcotics Division, he had extensive training with the United States Department of Homeland Security. Lt. Bracone currently assists as an incident commander on any critical incidents with the City of Anderson and is a member of the upstate type 3 critical incident team.
In 2007, Lt. Bracone transferred to the Support Services Division as the lieutenant and obtained his Basic Instructor Certification in which he was responsible for training and recruitment. Bracone is also the representative for the police department as the point of contact for the Westside Community Group meetings. In 2008, Lt. Bracone headed up the Warrant Division. As the Lieutenant in the Warrants division, Lt. Bracone was responsible for apprehending suspects with outstanding warrants and being a Liaison with other law enforcement agencies regarding outstanding warrants. Lt. Bracone is also a member of the United States Marshall's Task Force team. As of this date, Lt. Bracone is the lieutenant in the Special Operations Division (SOD) where he leads 3 divisions; Narcotics, Warrants, and Gangs. Lt.
