Captain Blair began his career in 1989 at the Anderson Police Department in the Uniform Patrol Division. From there he was transferred to the Vice and Narcotics unit of the Police Department. Captain Blair worked in the narcotics unit for several years until the inception of the first Crime Scene Unit at the Police Department. At that time Blair advanced to the rank of Sergeant. Within this unit, Blair was part of a two man team responsible for crime scene investigations in the City of Anderson. After serving in the Crime Scene Unit, Blair transferred back to the narcotics unit as a supervisor. Blair graduated from the Narcotics Commanders School in 1998. In 1999, Blair began to serve in the Detective Division as a Detective Sergeant. After several years as a detective, Blair advanced to the rank of Lieutenant in the Uniform Patrol Division and was the commanding officer of a patrol shift. In 2006, Blair transferred into the Detention Center in order to create a new unit which began to operate independently within the police department's organization. In 2007, Blair advanced to the rank of Administrative Captain and continues to serve in that capacity. Captain Blair earned an Associate Degree in Public Service with a Major in Criminal Justice from Tri-County Tech in 1988.
